Perhaps in the 21st century, the machines will take over... but you'll have no worries about the ones exhibitied in a Holborn gallery at the moment. They might look realistic, but these quirky automata of eccentric people, designed by cartoonist and engineer Tim Hunkin, are all coin-operated. The gallery is open late on Thursdays, so go along to Princeton Street, between noon and 8pm, and have a play. (Nearest tube: Holborn)
