It's rare that a building has an image of its own destruction engraved on its doors, but Manila Cathedral is a rare building. It may look old, but the present structure dates from 1958, the eighth incarnation in a history of buildings being destroyed (fire, earthquakes and latterly World War II) dating back to 1581. Discover its story - and that of the city that it contains - at the building in front of Plaza de Roma on Cabildo cor. Beaterio Street.
