Less than a mile awayDuring World War II, the Air Transport Auxilliary was based near Maidenhead. Now, you can recreate the sights and sounds of the iconic Spitfires that flew there with the Spitfire Simulator at Maidenhead Heritage Centre, on Park Street. Call to check that it's all in working order, then go along between 10.20am and 3.40pm and take-off!
