The Colorado State Capitol building on 200 E Colfax Avenue in Denver was completed in 1894 and has been a symbol of the 'Mile High City' ever since, especially as the fifteenth step up to it is a mile high above sea level. Take a look around and find out about the history of government in the state with a free tour - these run hourly from 10am to 3pm with knowledgeable guides. It's first come first served, so arrive 20 mins early if you can.
