About 7 miles awayThe Frogmore Paper Mill in Apsley, Hemel Hempstead, was at the forefront of making paper cheaply in the early 19th century, and it's still making it this Thursday. Each Thursday volunteers run guided tours of their machines, taking you through the processes involved, and you can even take some freshly-made paper home with you. Tours run at 11.15am, 1pm and 2.45pm.
